Welcome to the Daviess County Barn Quilt Trail

Hi, welcome to the Daviess County Barn Quilt Trail. We are soon to become part of the Kentucky Barn Quilt Trail and are sponsored through the area Cooperative Extension office and Homemakers.

If you have a barn (old or new) or commercial building (not many barns around anymore) in good view of at least one road, street or highway within Daviess County and would like to have one of our Quilt Blocks applied to your building please contact the Extension Office. 270-685-8480 .

The cost is $300 and we depend on volunteers for creating, painting and hanging the blocks (made on quality signboard stock). If you can help us in any way, please contact the Extension Office. 270- 685-8480.

Soon we will have a brochure listing the blocks hung in our county. You will be able to access it here or find it at the Extension Office and other locations.

Leave us a comment, good or constructive!
Thanks,

We are painting!

Corner of the Double T block and its owner.

Thank you to the Philpot Fire Department who has allowed us to use their common room for our painting.  Without them there would be a huge mess in Jackie Snow's basement.

We are very excited that we are about ready to hang the first three "quilts" on barns and buildings in Daviess County.  It is completely coincidental that all three are on Highway 231 south of Owensboro.

The Slideshow you see is NOT our barns!  This blog is still under construction and as soon as we have some quilts properly hung (very soon!) we'll have a slideshow of our own.
